Head of the CIS Observer Mission and Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Sergey Lebedev, stated today at the Central Election Commission's press center that the presidential elections in Uzbekistan held on July 9 were conducted in full compliance with the requirements of the Constitution and Electoral Code of the country, Dunyo has reported.
"The CIS Observer Mission concludes that the elections held on July 9, 2023, fully comply with the requirements of the Constitution and Electoral Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. They were competitive, free, open, and transparent, adhering to universally recognized principles of democratic elections" said Sergey Lebedev.
