Uzbekistan’s incumbent leader Shavkat Mirziyoyev highlighted that the country's population demonstrated a high level of political maturity and responsibility on July 9, during the recent elections conducted under the updated Constitution. His remarks were made during a video conference on July 11. Mirziyoyev emphasised the active participation of citizens, their political awareness and involvement, which was recognized by the international community.
"We are all children of the ancient, beautiful, and noble Uzbekistan. The present lives of more than 130 nations and ethnic groups residing in this blessed land, as well as their destiny and future, are united as one. The interests of the homeland and the people are sacred and paramount for all of us. I express my gratitude to all candidates who put forward such noble goals and ambitions and stood as representatives on this honourable platform, which was shared by all of us during the election process," said the President.
The head of state expressed sincere respect and admiration for all citizens who actively participated in the elections, showcased their desires and aspirations, and supported broad democratic reforms, ensuring their strong political and legal consciousness.
"With all my knowledge, experience, determination, diligence, and dedication, I am ready to embark on this journey to uphold the high trust and belief that our hardworking, brave, and noble people have placed in me," said the President.
The Central Election Commission, election districts, and polling stations were praised for organising the elections at a high level. The President expressed gratitude to citizens who actively demonstrated their political will and aspirations, as well as those who voted during the Hajj pilgrimage. He also expressed gratitude to the personnel of law enforcement and regulatory agencies for ensuring security and order, as well as to local and international observers and representatives of the media for their fair monitoring and coverage of the electoral process.
