Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 262 dated June 26, 2023, "On Approval of Certain Normative Legal Documents Related to Media Support and Journalism Development," has been adopted, Norma.uz reports.
The document approves several regulations, including:
1. Procedure for organizing and conducting a competition for the best television and radio projects aimed at children. The document provides funding for the top 30 projects. The competition for funding will be held annually in July-August.
2. Procedure for organizing and conducting a competition for the best material published in the media. The first-place winner will receive a reward of 50 CBV, (Condition Base Value) 40 CBV for second place, and 30 CBV for third place.
3. Procedure for compensating media personnel for expenses related to language training and examination fees for obtaining national and international language proficiency certificates. The document provides compensation to media workers who have worked for at least 1 year for language training and examination fees (English, German, French, Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese). The compensation amount is 50% of the expenses but not exceeding 15 CBV. To be eligible for compensation, the employee must obtain a certificate at level B2 or higher.
4. Procedure for compensating individuals for expenses related to electronic subscriptions to periodicals, books, and other printed materials, as well as for periodical publications. The refund is 20% of the subscription cost for children's periodical print publications and 10% for other publications.
5. Temporary procedure for reimbursing expenses for the creation (modernization) of modern electronic formats for periodical publications, where the founders are non-governmental entities and organizations. The regulations establish norms for conducting a competition to determine the top 20 projects.
