Switzerland to Fund UNDP Project for Digital Economy and Skills Development in Uzbekistan, Spot.uz reports, citing the press service of the local UNDP branch.
The Swiss government, UNDP, and the Ministry of Economy announced a collaboration to support the development of digital economy and skills in Uzbekistan. The partnership aims to unlock opportunities for expanding economic rights and youth prospects through digitalization.
Digital platforms can help enhance the rights and opportunities of women and youth, particularly in rural areas of Uzbekistan," noted Rachel Bosch, Head of Cooperation at the Swiss Embassy.
The project includes:
- Enhancing the digital entrepreneurship environment and skills of young entrepreneurs.
- Strengthening institutional capacity for the development of digital economy and entrepreneurship policies.
- Providing financial solutions to improve financial accessibility for youth and foster startup development in the digital entrepreneurship sector.
The initiative will benefit around 13,000 individuals, including young women and residents of rural areas.
In collaboration with various ministries, IT Park, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the project will create a favorable environment for digital entrepreneurship and contribute to inclusive economic growth in Uzbekistan.
