On June 3, Uzbekistan's Central Election Commission (CEC) held a meeting in Tashkent to discuss preparations for the upcoming early presidential elections, Dunyo reports.
The CEC reviewed matters related to the accreditation of international and foreign observers as well as representatives of the media.
In particular, based on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' presentation, 401 observers from OSCE/ODIHR, the World Association of Electoral Bodies, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the International Foundation for Electoral Systems, and foreign countries have been accredited.
Based on the inquiries received by the CEC, 42 representatives from local media outlets have been accredited.
As of June 4, the total number of accredited international and foreign observers amounts to 785 individuals, while the total number of representatives from local and foreign media stands at 1299 individuals.
