Moldova's Defense Ministry Delegation participates in NATO Partnership and Cooperation Committee Meeting in Brussels, infotag.md reports.
The meeting focused on discussing the progress of reforms in the national army according to international standards for participating in international peacekeeping missions. It also explored possibilities of external partners providing assistance in enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces.
Furthermore, discussions revolved around the implementation of an expanded Defense Capability Building Initiative (DCBI) for the Republic of Moldova. This meeting took place in preparation for the upcoming NATO Summit scheduled to be held in Vilnius this summer.
The Political and Security Committee (PSC) is responsible for overseeing the European Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP). Its responsibilities include monitoring the global situation, recommending strategic approaches and policy options to the Council, and providing political oversight and strategic guidance for crisis management operations.
The PSC comprises ambassadors from member states stationed in Brussels and is led by representatives from the European External Action Service.
