Vice President of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin, arrived in Tashkent on June 12, Dunyo reports. Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bahromjon Aloyev, and other officials welcomed the high-ranking guest at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport.
Reportedly, the Indonesian delegation includes about a hundred representatives of ministries, agencies, mass media, as well as businessmen. During the five-day visit, the Indonesian delegation will hold bilateral meetings and negotiations with the government, ministries, and agencies of Uzbekistan, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation.
In addition, the Indonesian delegation will visit Samarkand, where they will become acquainted with the Silk Road Samarkand tourism complex, and hold talks with the regional and city authorities.
Uzbekistan and Indonesia maintain diplomatic relations and have engaged in various areas of cooperation from trade and investment to cultural exchange. In fact, on June 3, Indonesia Halal Lifestyle Center with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Tashkent organized Indonesia Cultural Night at Navruz Park Tashkent. A vibrant and enchanting event celebrated the rich cultural heritage of Indonesia within the Halal Beyond Borders in Uzbekistan and brought together the best of Indonesian traditions, art, fashion, and culinary delights, creating a memorable experience for all attendees.
Uzbekistan and Indonesia have relaunched direct flights from Tashkent and Jakarta allowing for an increase in the flows of tourists to both countries and exchange of knowledge and culture.
