In an interview with "Daryo", US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Jonathan Henick informed that America has no military bases in Uzbekistan and has no plans to build a military base in the future.
"Currently, we do not have military bases either in Uzbekistan or anywhere in Central Asia, and at the same time, we have no plans to create a permanent military base.
We cooperate very well with all Central Asian governments, including Uzbekistan, in the area of military security, because we face some common threats. A terrorist threat is coming from Afghanistan. There is a danger of drugs, organized crime. All countries, including Uzbekistan, I think, are worried about the security of their borders.
Thus, we have a number of military cooperation programs, and conduct joint exercises - all this is aimed at reliable security and stability of peace.
I'm sure we'll fight it out. They don't care about national borders, if we don't act together, we can't fight against it," - the ambassador said.
