The presidents of Central Asian countries confirmed their participation in the second European Union-Central Asia summit which will take place in Cholpon-Ata on June 2-3. The Kyrgyz Republic’s presidential press service informs.
According to the source, the meeting will be attended by the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Nurmuhammet Amannepesov and President of the European Council Charles Michel.
It is the second meeting of the leaders of the countries of the region and the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. The first one took place in Astana on October 27, 2022.
On May 19, Almaty hosted the second economic forum "Central Asia - European Union", which discussed the issues of deepening interregional cooperation and further steps to implement interaction between the countries of the region and the EU in three key priority areas: transition to a green economy and digital transformation, business improvement -environment in Central Asia, as well as measures to expand trade and transport connectivity.
