The group paid special attention to issues of joint use of water resources in the region noting the importance of mutual consideration of the interests of neighbouring countries and the rational use of regional water resources. There are opportunities to develop common proposals by the European Union and Central Asian countries to regulate the situation in Afghanistan.
The delegations positively assessed the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to establish an international negotiating group under the auspices of the UN, emphasizing that this could be a part of the general proposals in this format for the development of the UN Roadmap for Afghanistan.
