The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) delivered a gift of 25 tons of dates to Turkmenistan, Saudi Gazette reports.
The gift was presented in Ashgabat by Saudi Ambassador Said bin Osman Suwaid to Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkab Khodzhagulyev.
The Kingdom supports brotherly and friendly countries, the information said.
At one of an Ashgabat mosque said Daryo that dates and date palms are mentioned 20 times in the Muslim holy book, the Koran, because they have curative properties.
Dates are renowned for their high micronutrient content: they contain B vitamins, PP, as well as iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus.
Some physicians believe they are nutritious, useful for pregnant women, and helpful in treating colds.
