The checkpoints at the border of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have been put on an increased working schedule due to the large flow of trucks. The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan has reported that a list of problem areas has been drawn up, and the parties have taken appropriate measures to address the problematic aspects of the concentration at the border.
Traffic flows have been redistributed, and checkpoints have been transferred to a reinforced working mode. Additional customs posts have been established to expedite the monitoring of vehicles crossing the border. The main dispatching department of KGD has switched to 24-hour operation to release goods. It was also learned that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan had held talks to increase the number of goods and vehicles received on both sides and to speed up border control operations. The working group will inspect the work of all checkpoints on both sides in the coming days.
As part of the execution of the government order, the work on increasing the turnover and capacity of the border crossing points with Uzbekistan will continue. Three customs posts in the Turkestan region currently accept an average of 900-1,000 trucks per day.
