Uzbekistan has recently announced plans to assist Kazakhstan in addressing the pressing issue of water scarcity. To this end, the relevant ministry has revealed that it intends to establish educational exchange programs to develop skilled personnel in hydrology.
A new university branch focused on agricultural education for both countries will be established in Kazakhstan. Given that experts predict a water deficit of approximately 15% in Kazakhstan over the next decade, such measures are deemed essential to mitigate any potential crisis.
The Kazakh National Agricultural Research Institute Rector, Akylbek Kurishbayev, has highlighted the critical issue of water resource scarcity in Uzbekistan. To tackle this challenge, a joint exchange training program has been initiated in collaboration with the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation Engineers and Agricultural Mechanization. Kazakh students will be allowed to enroll in studies at the institute as part of this initiative.
Furthermore, the Rector of Auezov South Kazakhstan University (SKU), Daria Kozhamzharova, has declared that the institution is ready to welcome a considerable number of students in the upcoming autumn semester, encompassing an array of fields such as construction, architecture, engineering, land relations, and IT.
