Two female teachers in the Bamiyan region of Afghanistan were reportedly assaulted by the Taliban, Hasht-e Subh Daily reports.
The incident occurred as a punishment for welcoming Habibullah Oghaz, the acting minister of education for the Taliban. The teachers, who were associated with the Darul Ulum Ettefaq organization, were beaten on May 22.
Following the assault, the Taliban took the two teachers to the security command in Bamiyan. There has been no official comment from local Taliban officials regarding the incident.
Furthermore, there have been various restrictions imposed on women in Afghanistan, such as prohibitions on working in UN offices, men sewing clothes for women, women visiting male doctors, women visiting hospitals unaccompanied, and entering restaurants with parks or green areas. Additionally, broadcasting commercials with female voices are also prohibited.
