The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, recently spoke at the inaugural summit of "Central Asia - China" in Xi'an. In his address, the head of state highlighted the importance of fostering a comprehensive partnership with China to promote sustainable progress in the Central Asian country.
President Tokayev underscored the potential for Central Asia to tap into China's vast economic opportunities through a synergetic approach that can create a new partnership trajectory.
Kazakhstan is fully committed to this objective and is implementing sweeping reforms to diversify its economy and create a conducive environment for foreign investors. The country has already attracted over $350bn in foreign direct investment, with China contributing more than $23bn.
The President expressed his appreciation to the Chinese Government and emphasized the need to deepen bilateral cooperation. The volume of Kazakhstan-China trade has already reached $31bn, with plans to increase it to $40bn.
