Newly appointed Russian Ambassador Ivan Volynkin presented copies of his credentials to Acting Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev.
The diplomats discussed the current agenda of the Turkmen-Russian strategic partnership, according to a press release from the Turkmenistan's foreign office.
Volynkin, 65, previously worked in the US, Serbia, Montenegro, Macedonia, Georgia, and Armenia. Since 2018, he has headed the consular department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Turkmenistan actively cooperates with Russian regions such as Astrakhan, Chelyabinsk, etc.
Some 200 companies with Russian capital are registered in the local market, including KAMAZ, Tatneft, Vozrozhdenie and Gazprom.
Inter RAO, Power Machines, United Shipbuilding Corporation, and Lukoil are holding talks with Turkmen partners.
