Authorities in Tashkent have caught an individual who was trying to circulate counterfeit UZS 200,000 banknotes. The suspect was reportedly selling these fake bills for UZS 60,000 each.
After an operative event held by the PGO Department and the Chilanzar district SSS Department, it was found that the suspect was producing these counterfeit banknotes and selling them on the black market.
The authorities seized ten fake UZS 200,000 bills and 31 additional banknotes printed on A4 paper, a color printer, and other devices to produce these counterfeit bills.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 176 of the Criminal Code. The investigation is underway.
