The II international forum on poverty reduction will take place in Tashkent on May 18, the Center for Economic Research and Reforms reports.
Over 200 guests and specialists from renowned international organizations will attend, notably the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics Abhijit Banerjee, who also serves as the founding partner of J-PAL, a worldwide project to eradicate poverty. James Foster, an economics professor, and Sabina Alcaire, the head of the Oxford Initiative on Poverty and Human Capital Development, are also anticipated to be present.
The event, which is arranged in partnership with Uzbekistan's Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, seeks to examine worldwide expertise in addressing poverty, cover challenges associated with enhancing human capital, develop research areas of focus on social security and targeted assistance, and share views on what has been accomplished and future initiatives aimed at combating poverty in Uzbekistan.
A number of collaboration papers, particularly one between the Center for Economic Research and Reforms and J-PAL, will be inked as part of the event.
