Uzbekistan's southern region of Karshi on May 12 hosted a plogging race, commemorating Environmental Education Day. Over 100 individuals participated in the event, collecting approximately 400 kg of waste from the streets. The race spanned a distance of 10 km and followed a route encompassing Jayhun and Alisher Navoi streets.
The run was organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources Department of the Kashkadarya region in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Institute of Economics of the Karshi Engineering-Economics Institute, the Karshi State University, and a team of devoted volunteers. After the event, ten young participants were recognized for their outstanding contributions with letters of appreciation and memorable gifts.
The Department of the Ministry has put forward a comprehensive eco-campaign that will span the region to promote environmental consciousness and reduce waste.
