The Organisation for Co-operation between Railways (OSJD) is convening a meeting in Ashgabat from May 15 to 18. The gathering brought together participants of the International Transit Tariff Agreement, including representatives from Central Asia, to establish standardized protocols for transporting goods, the event's organizers told Daryo correspondent.
The Treaty, which has been in force since 1997, was signed by the railway departments of the three Caucasian republics, five Central Asian countries, Belarus, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Mongolia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Estonia.
On the agenda is the intensification of transit traffic in international traffic, improvement of the Agreement on International Goods Transport by Rail, and ensuring the competitiveness of transit freight transport by rail.
