In April 2023, the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan recorded a 0.8% inflation rate hitting 11 percent of an annual inflation index as of May 2022.
Consumer prices have increased by 3.3% since the beginning of the year.
Although, in April, prices for the restaurant and hotel services department increased by 0.8 percent, consumer prices have increased by 3.3 percent since the beginning of the year.
In the last month, food products were the leaders in terms of price growth. Annual price growth for this group was 13.7 percent, and this is the highest indicator in the last three years.
Despite the fresh onion presence in the Uzbek markets, the price of that vegetable remains 86.4% higher than in April of last year.
And April this year also saw a price spike for bananas (+39.6%) and tomatoes (+21.3%) which do not present a correlation between delivery expenses.
Fuel prices in Uzbekistan fell by 3.7 percent, and propane dropped by 12.9 percent.
