The average nominal salary in Uzbekistan in the first quarter of 2023 was just above $350, Statistics Agency reports.
Nominal salary is the salary of the employer to individuals in the form of cash, including taxes and other payments, calculated for the product produced (work performed or service rendered) during a certain period of time, in accordance with current laws.
In January-March 2023, the highest indicators of average monthly nominal wages by region were in Tashkent city (about $578), Navoi region (around $481), Tashkent region (roughly $350), and ties in Andijan region and Bukhara region at about $306.
Employees engaged in finance and insurance receive the highest salary - about $963 on average.
Education (about $254) and health care and social services (around $236) sectors are in the lowest ranks compared to other sectors.
For information: The minimum wage was increased to just above $80 on June 1, 2022. From May 1, 2023, this figure will be increased to approximately $85.
The data of a total of 3,057,842 employees were used to calculate the average monthly salary.
