Türkiye, on April 28, had received an 1800-year-old tomb stele that was smuggled from the ancient city of Zeugma in southeastern Gaziantep province and had been in Italy.
Türkiye's Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, on his Twitter page, expressed his happiness at the return of this historical heritage to Türkiye. He reiterated the country's commitment to fighting historical artifact smuggling with all stakeholders.
Bakanlık görevine başladığımda iadesini sağladığımız ilk tarihî eser Gaziantep Zeugma'dandı.
