Vladimir Putin approved the procedure for living in the Russian Federation for natives of the DPR (Donetsk People's Republic) and LPR (Luhansk People's Republic), as well as the annexed parts of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, providing for the deportation of residents of the annexed territories of Ukraine who, by July 1, 2024, will refuse to enter into Russian citizenship.
Foreigners will be considered those citizens who have declared their desire to retain their existing citizenship or remain stateless and have not taken the oath of a Russian citizen.
Residents of the annexed territories who are considered foreigners and "pose a threat to national security" can be deported from Russia. In particular, we are talking about people who “advocate a violent change in the foundations of the constitutional order”, plan terrorist attacks, support extremism, or participate in unauthorized actions.
Acquired citizenship of the Russian Federation will be stripped off for “actions that threaten national security”, including military “fakes” and “discrediting” the Russian army. Among other violations, due to which the Russian authorities will now be able to deprive the acquired citizenship, mass riots, repeated violation of the law on rallies, evasion of military service, desertion, and failure to comply with the law on “foreign agents”.
It will be possible to apply again for admission to citizenship in no earlier than three years.
