On April 27, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a series of meetings within the program of the Tashkent Investment Forum.
First, the head of state received the head of the administration of Kyrgyz President Aqilbek Japarov. The high-profile politicians discussed the current state of Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan multilateral cooperation and the preparations for holding the Forum of Regions and the Meeting of Generations.
After that, President Mirziyoyev received the minister of energy and infrastructure of UAE, Suhail al-Mazrui. At the beginning of the negotiations, Minister Al-Mazrui conveyed to the head of state the greetings of President Sheikh Mohammed Al Nahyan and Vice President, Prime Minister, Emir of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum.
The President also received the Minister of Economic Development of Hungary, Marton Nad, as part of the International Investment Forum in Tashkent. First-time measures for further development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed. Special attention was paid to the radical expansion of cooperation between entrepreneurs and regions.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the chairman of the board of the Saudi "ACWA Power" company Muhammad Abdulla Abunayyan. The head of state noted with pleasure that cooperation with this company, which invests the most in the development of the "green" energy sector of Uzbekistan, is fruitful.
Today projects worth 7.5 billion dollars are being implemented in the field of renewable energy. In addition, new projects on the construction of solar and wind power plants and the production of "green" hydrogen are being actively prepared. During the conversation, the prospects of further deepening cooperation, first of all, the promotion of innovative projects, including within the framework of the Uzbekistan-Saudi Business Council, were discussed.
Then, the state leader received the Deputy Secretary General of the UN, the Executive Secretary of the European Economic Commission (EEC) Olga Algayerova as part of the second Tashkent International Investment Forum. At the meeting, issues of development of multifaceted cooperation with UN institutions, including the Council of Ministers, were discussed in order to quickly achieve the goals of sustainable development.
