Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with the head of the Islamic Development Bank Muhammad bin Suleiman al-Jassir, the presidential press service reports.
The parties discussed issues of further deepening full-scale cooperation with the Bank group within the framework of the new medium-term Partnership Program.
The portfolio of joint projects currently exceeds $1.3b covering priority sectors of the economy. Agreements worth $400mn were signed on the implementation of projects in the field of modernization of rural and transport infrastructure, and development of preschool education.
The parties also discussed expanding practical cooperation and promoting specific projects in the field of supporting entrepreneurship and private investment, improving financial instruments, actively involving IDB structures in project activities, as well as expanding technical assistance in Uzbekistan's accession to the WTO, and creating an innovation ecosystem.
