No one has the right to interfere in the relations between Russia and China, the official representative of the Chinese MFA Wang Wenbin said at a briefing, "RBK" reports.
"China and Russia have always adhered to the principles of non-alignment, non-confrontation, and non-targeting of third parties. We are building a new type of relationship between major countries based on mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and mutually beneficial cooperation," said the representative of the MFA, stressing that no country can interfere in the relations between Russia and China.
This was his reaction to the latest statement of the head of the U.S. Treasury Department about the "partnership" between Beijing and Moscow.
Wang Wenbin added that "China has always taken a fair and impartial position towards Ukraine" and has put forward the idea of peace talks. He noted that this position "completely differs from the practice of a number of countries that apply double standards and continue to add fuel to the fire." The head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, in particular, called on the U.S. to de-escalate the conflict in Ukraine.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has previously condemned China's "borderless" cooperation with Russia, calling it a "worrying sign that China is not serious" about ending the war in Ukraine.
Russia and China also issued a statement that they "consider each other as priority partners and cooperate on an equal basis" in March.
