Kazakh Oljas Kanybek fought back armed robbers and immediately became a local star living in Miami (USA, Florida).
On his Instagram page, Oljas posted several videos showing how a local gang tried to rob his house. Nevertheless, the attackers failed to carry out their plan: the Kazakhstani snatched a gun from them and forced them to flee. Subsequently, the police and an ambulance arrived at the scene.
A Russian-speaking policeman who arrived at the scene said that “no one has ever seen anything like this here,” and the victim himself joked, comparing the failed robbery attempt and the fuss around the events with the GTA game. In one of the videos, Kanybek signed: “American cops are shocked by a Kazakh.”
In an interview with Massaget.kz, the Kazakhstani said that he arrived in Miami to study about two weeks ago. At home, a young Kazakhstani had a hobby of reselling mobile phones. He did this in the States as well.
“I found in the ads an offer to sell the iPhone 13 for about $200 and made an appointment. I drove there for three hours, because the area of the city of Miami is three times larger than the area of Almaty. I'm very tired, because I was fasting. When I arrived, I found a dead end street. There was a black guy standing there. I went up to him and did not notice how two more ran up from behind and began to demand a backpack from me, putting a gun to my temple, ”said the Kazakhstani.
The Kazakhstani received the support of his compatriots, who saw in this story a script for a Hollywood blockbuster. Oljas turned to the Kazakh consulate for help, because in addition to cash, his documents and a piece of paper with an address of residence in the U.S. were also stolen from his bag, which causes him to fear for his life.
