Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin reported on the results of the development of the trade industry for 2022 at a meeting with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Daryo correspondent from Kazakhstan reports citing the press service of Akorda.
According to Zhumangarin, in general, the volume of trade reached $134.4bn, which exceeds the figures for 2021 by 32.1%. The volume of sales of services increased by 26.3% and amounted to $12.3bn. The Minister of Trade emphasized that there was a rise in trade turnover with all the leading trading partners of Kazakhstan.
Serik Zhumangarin also spoke about the steps taken by the Government to stabilize prices and provide residents of the country with locally produced goods. Kazakhstan covers the residents' needs for 10 out of the 19 types of such products, from 80 to 98% - for six types of products, and from 50 to 68% - for three. A pool of potential large agricultural projects has been created to reduce dependence on imports. The projects are expected to be launched in the regions of the country in the near future.
