The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MFA) of Kazakhstan, Aybek Smadiyarov, expressed the position of the country after the attack of the Israeli police against the Palestinians in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Tengrinews reports.
Kazakhstan expressed concern about the growing tension in the Middle East in connection with the attacks on the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque in its announcement.
"We hope that common sense will prevail in the current situation and that the parties will show restraint and refrain from violence and steps that lead to further deterioration of the situation, as well as incitement," Smadiyarov said.
He added that in this situation it is necessary to follow the status quo.
"We hope that political, religious, and community leaders will make every effort to reduce tensions during the holy month of Ramadan and Easter. Kazakhstan is always in favor of strengthening tolerance and interreligious dialogue and strongly supports the efforts of the international community aimed at a peaceful solution to the Middle East problem in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council," Smadiyarov said.
