President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on April 6, received Special Representative of France's President Isabelle Dumont to discuss prospects of further strengthening bilateral relations in the context of the inked agreements, media reports.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said he was greatly impressed by the one-on-one meeting with the French leader on November 29 last year, when the two presidents touched upon the aspects of bilateral ties and the global situation. He emphasized that France is among Kazakhstan's key political and economic partners.
'We value our cooperation with your country, understand its role in the global arena, and appreciate its economic potential. Your country was among the first in the European Union to ink the Strategic Partnership Agreement with Kazakhstan in June 2008. This year will see fifteen years since that milestone document was inked’, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev told Isabelle Dumont.
The President stressed that 170 enterprises with French capital operate in Kazakhstan and represent the interests of the leading French companies.
For her part, Isabelle Dumont said France was keen to develop its ties with the Central Asian country and fully supported its ongoing political reforms.
