Annual inflation has decreased in Kazakhstan for the first time since December 2021, Daryo correspondent from Kazakhstan reports, citing the Bureau of National Statistics.
According to the agency, consumer prices rose by 0.9% in March.
“According to the results of the previous month, this figure was 1.3% (in January - 1.1%). Thus, inflation in the country is gradually slowing down,” the experts said.
On an annualized calculation, inflation equaled about 18.1%. This figure fell for the first time since December 2021. Food prices increased by 20.5%, household goods - by 18.1%, paid services - by 14.4%. Only cost of cabbage fell over the year (by 51.1%). The strongest price increase was recorded for refined sugar (by 77%).
