The European Union (EU) has provided financial support for the launch of Turkmenistan's Trade Information Portal.
The project was implemented by Turkmenistan's Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, with technical assistance from the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
This online platform provides a detailed description of import, export, and transit procedures from a trader’s perspective.
"The project has been developed to contribute to Turkmenistan’s accession to the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and in particular on of its protocol on Trade Facilitation".
It responds to Article 1.2, which obliges member states to publish their trade procedures online and provides traders with transparent information on trade procedures.
The information is relevant to exporters, importers, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and transporters.
