Foreign Minister Eli Cohen plans to visit Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on April 20, The Times of Israel reported.
"The Foreign Ministry is looking into the possibility for Cohen to fly to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on the 20th, to open an Israeli embassy there."
The information said Cohen would travel to Azerbaijan on April 18.
Daryo previously wrote that Israeli Ambassador Ishmael Khaldi recently presented his credentials to the president of Turkmenistan.
In his official message, Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog said that for 30 years of cooperation between the two countries, "friendly relations and mutual understanding have developed."
