Uzbekistan proposed to create a single payment system in Central Asia. This was discussed at the Council on Trade and Investment Agreement meeting between the governments of the USA and Central Asian countries on March 17, the Ministry of Investments, Industry, and Trade reports.
The meeting in Samarkand was organized with the support of the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) and the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) Department.
Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov emphasized a wide range of opportunities for cooperation between the countries of Central Asia in the trade-economic, investment, transport, and other fields.
From this point of view, taking joint measures using unused resources and opportunities, including unifying the laws of Central Asian countries on electronic commerce and creating a single independent arbitration system having a single payment system, he suggested creating a regional platform for suppliers of goods and services, creating data centers and databases of exporters and importers to forecast and manage risks and ensure sanitary-epidemiological stability.
The event also unveiled initiatives to introduce digitalized certification of agroproduction, custom rules and procedures following CLDP recommendations, and measures to enhance women's participation in the regional economy.
