Latvia's popular ‘Mixnews.lv’ platform on March 15 published an article on Uzbekistan's position in the Global Innovation Index in 2022 as the country joined the top three of South Asia, Dunyo reports.
In particular, the country gained international recognition for its economic development as a result of ensuring the fulfillment of the priority tasks defined in the Presidential Decree ‘On approval of the Strategy of innovative development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2019-2021’
Uzbekistan has set itself the goal to become one of the 50 strongest in the Global Innovation Index by 2030, the publication says.
‘In general, the dynamics of the past years show the rapid progress of Uzbekistan upwards’.
The publication underlines that Uzbekistan has become a leading country in the top three in the Central and South Asia region (India - 40, the Islamic Republic of Iran - 53, and the Republic of Uzbekistan - 82). In 2021 the country occupied fourth place in the region of South Asia.
