Russia wants to establish cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of nuclear physics, the Press Office of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations reports.
The ministry held a meeting with the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation, Co-Chairman of the Board of the CIS IFGS Mikhail Shvydka. The meeting also saw the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Uzbekistan O. Malginov.
Malginov mentioned that the Russian side plans on hosting the forthcoming Uzbek-Russian Educational Forum in St. Petersburg in the second half of this year. M. Shvydkoy also suggested that this Forum becomes a regular platform for discussing bilateral partnerships in the context of education.
It was noted that the Uzbek educational institutions, including the National University of Uzbekistan, Samarkand State University, and Tashkent State Technical University, intend to contribute to projects of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna and establish communication on training personnel in the field of nuclear physics.
It was also suggested to keep assigning vice-rectors of Uzbekistan's universities in charge of science and innovation to Innopolis University (Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan) to further develop their credentials.
The last Third Forum was organized on October 26-27, 2022 in the city of Samarkand.
