The Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation Ibrahim Abdurahmanov received the UNESCO international prize for research in the field of natural sciences.
The award ceremony was held in Djibloho, Equatorial Guinea. The amount of the prize is $350,000. This amount is said to be divided equally among four winners.
The event saw the President of Equatorial Guinea, Teodoro Mbasogo, UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay, award winners, and other high-level guests. In addition, the permanent representatives of all member states of UNESCO came to the ceremony.
The UNESCO-Equatorial Guinea International Prize for Research in the Natural Sciences is a scientific award launched by UNESCO in 2012 to reward scientific research that improves the quality of human life. The main purpose of this award is to reward scientific research projects and activities that have made a significant contribution to the improvement of human life by individuals, institutions, and non-governmental organizations in member states of the UNESCO organization.
