The Kyrgyz-Uzbek car factory will be built in the Chüy Region of the Kyrgyz Republic, the country’s Ministry of Economy and Trade has reported.
In particular, ‘construction and repair works are set to start in early April’, Deputy Minister Ainura Usenbekova said, adding that the enterprise will be working at full capacity starting from July and produce nineteen models of automobile machinery, including Cobalt vehicles.
Kyrgystan-based companies Nur’ and ‘DT Technician’ along with Uzbekistan-based ‘Uzavtosanoat’ will be producing the automotive equipment.
The official document for the construction of the car factory in Kyrgyzstan was inked by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Bishkek on January 26.
According to the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund initially, the enterprise will master the production of automobile components and only then the plant will start to produce automobile equipment.
30 types of automobile parts for cars of Uzbekistan are produced in the Kyrgyz city of Jalal-Abad at the Nur enterprise.
In the coming years, the plant intends to master the production of 30,000 cars of Chevrolet, Daewoo, and Isuzu and create 2,000 jobs.
Prices for cars will start from $ 13,000 (cars), from $ 28,000- for trucks.
