Uzbekistan and Tajikistan laid the foundation for the erection of the Andakhon market on the bilateral border on March 13, media reports referring to the press secretary of the head of the Sogd region Muzaffar Yusufzoda.
Reportedly, Uzbekistan intends to allocate $8mn for its construction. The facility is set to be created at the expense of the country’s government on a 5-hectares area. In particular, it will house 200 shops, a bank branch, a restaurant and cafe, a hotel, and a logistics center. The market will sell products manufactured in the two countries as part of the measures to boost bilateral trade.
