Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov on March 14 held a meeting with Ambassador of Qatar Hassan bin Hamza Hashim.
Reportedly, the two sides discussed the upcoming first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission (IGC) on Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation set to be held in March and the joint business forum in Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent.
Besides, they emphasized that a joint group will be created to monitor the efficiency and timeliness in the implementation process of the bilateral agreements. The joint group will be also tasked to identify new areas of cooperation and participate in establishing business partnerships.
The two sides agreed to accelerate the construction of combined-cycle power plants in the Syrdarya and Surkhandarya regions, and launch direct flights between the two capitals by Qatar Airways.
