Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mehrdad Bazrpash in a meeting with Uzbekistan's delegation chaired by Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhamov on March 14 expressed his readiness to cooperate with Uzbekistan in the development of transit connections.
Reportedly, the meeting discussed aspects of bilateral cooperation in transport and logistics as some of the key and strategic areas. The parties agreed to implement the Ashgabat agreement and the plan for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in all directions of transport.
In addition, aspects of making use of the opportunities of the southern and northern ports of Iran, activating the transportation along the North-South transport corridor, reducing the current tariffs, and creating additional conveniences for the drivers of the two countries were touched upon.
Earlier on January 24 President Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation headed by the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. The head of state noted that mutual dialogues have become more active, trade is growing steadily, and cooperation between leading enterprises have strengthened.
