The British publication yachting-pages.com which covers events in the global yachting industry has deleted from its page the news related to the disappearance of the Irina VU yacht in Croatia.
The online media reported that this yacht was arrested in Croatia in 2021 and sailed unnoticed from the port of Betina on the island of Murter in October. In its article, Yachting Pages speculated that the yacht belonged to people related to Alisher Usmanov and his ex-wife, the president of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Irina Viner Usmonova.
On his part, Usmanov's representative, the businessman, said that "Irina, mentioned in the Croatian media, does not own the VU yacht and has nothing to do with its disappearance from the port of Betina." It is mentioned that Usmanov divorced his wife in the summer of 2022.
After that, Yachting Pages retracted its messages and denied that "the yacht belongs to Alisher Usmanov and ... he is an oligarch." The publication also apologized for "allowing ambiguity".
