In January-November 2022, Uzbekistan exported 135.8 thousand tons of melons and watermelons worth 33.2 million dollars to 16 countries. This is reported by the State Statistics Committee.
The volume of melon and watermelon exports increased by 53.8 thousand tons compared to the corresponding period of 2021.
Kazakhstan is the leader among the countries that exported the most melons and watermelons to Uzbekistan in the 11th month of 2022 - 58.2 thousand tons. This is 25 thousand tons more than the corresponding period of 2021.
Russia (28.1 thousand tons) is in second place in terms of buying melons from Uzbekistan, while Kyrgyzstan (27.2 thousand tons) is third. This trio has not changed compared to the first eleven months of 2021.
As a result of the war between Russia and Ukraine, Uzbekistan's export of melons and watermelons to Ukraine has almost stopped. In 2021, the country delivered 5.6 thousand tons of melons and watermelons to Ukraine.
According to January-November 2022, Tajikistan (14.5 thousand tons), Latvia (2.8 thousand tons), Belarus (2.4 thousand tons), Germany (868 tons) and Poland (684 tons) bought in bulk Uzbek melons.
