On December 23, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov and the Minister of Environmental Protection of Japan Akihiro Nishimura signed a memorandum on cooperation in environmental protection. This was reported by the information service of the ministry.
Japan has been assisting Uzbekistan in mitigating the consequences of the construction of the Aral Sea, including by participating in the activities of the Multi-Partnership Trust Fund for Human Security in the Aral Sea.
The document signed by Vladimir Norov and Akihiro Nishimura aims to expand cooperation between the environmental agencies of the two countries in solving and responding to environmental problems at the national, regional and global levels.
