Since the beginning of the year, food products have been imported from 106 countries where Kazakhstan is the leading exporter selling products worth 891.1 million dollars or 36.2 percent.
Russia took second place with a figure of 590.9 million dollars. Brazil is in the third place in terms of food supply to Uzbekistan - 362 million dollars.
The volume of food products imported to Uzbekistan in January-September 2022 amounted to 2.46 billion dollars (1.8 billion dollars in the corresponding period of 2021). This is reported by the State Statistics Committee.
The annual food import increased by 36.8% ($663.1 million) compared to January-September 2021.
In January-September 2021, the share of food products in the total import was 10 percent, while in January-September 2022, this indicator increased by 1.2 percent and made 11.2 percent.
