It is planned to decrease the number of state-owned enterprises in Uzbekistan by 75% by 2025. Sanjar Gurbanaliyev, head of the State Asset Management Agency, talked about this at a briefing today.
According to the management and reform strategy, it is planned to
- improve the legislation on management and reform of firms;
- reduce the number of state-owned enterprises;
- introduce modern methods of corporate management in enterprises, ensuring the openness and transparency of their activities.
Today, on the basis of the "sell or explain" principle defined in the strategy, more than 2,000 companies have been inspected, and proposals for their sale, reorganization and liquidation have been prepared.
