On September 24, the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan (MIFT) convened the meeting on the development of inter-sectoral and regional industrial cooperation that was attended by the ministries and agencies, industry associations and local government bodies of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city, the ministry’s press service reports.
The relevant organizations were instructed to expedite the localization program, reduce the import of goods produced in the republic, and execute the terms of contracts concluded through the electronic cooperation portal.
They will have to prepare a localization program that provides for the production of new types of import-substituting products in 2023-2024 in sectors and regions.
The Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade, Jamshid Khojayev, proposed to organize the Republican inter-sectoral industrial fair in Tashkent in November, this year.
24.3 trillion soums of import-substituting products were produced within the framework of the localization program in the last period of this year in Uzbekistan. 36.6 thousand cooperation agreements worth 7.9 trillion soums were signed through the electronic cooperation portal. As part of them, 3.7 trillion soum worth of products has been delivered to this day.
