The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Norov held a meeting with the US Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland in New York, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
Nuland emphasized that Washington fully supported the reforms and openness policy implemented in Uzbekistan and was ready to strengthen relations with Uzbekistan at the bilateral level and in the C5+1 format.
The US Deputy Secretary welcomed Uzbekistan's initiatives and practical steps in developing good neighbourly relations with Central Asian countries, as well as strengthening interregional relations.
Uzbekistan's efforts to achieve sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan, provide large-scale humanitarian aid to the neighbouring country, and implement infrastructure and energy projects have been highly appreciated.
