On September 23, the international rating agency Fitch Rating published its next report on the credit rating of Uzbekneftgaz JSC. According to the document, the National Oil and Gas company received the credit rating BB- with a stable outlook.
Mehriddin Abdullayev, chairman of the board of JSC "Uzbekneftgaz", conducted systematic work on obtaining international credit ratings for the company starting from February 2021. As a result, ratings were received from international rating agencies in September-October last year.
In the report published in connection with the approval of the credit rating of "Uzbekneftgaz", the Fitch Ratings agency emphasized the strong connection of "Uzbekneftgaz" with the government as the main factor for evaluating its rating.
Hence, on April 1, 2022, the agency confirmed that the long-term credit rating of Uzbekistan remained at the level of "BB-" with a "stable" outlook.
"Uzbekneftgaz" is the first company from Uzbekistan to receive and maintain an international credit rating at the sovereign level
